The primary objective in the establishment of the Ghana
Trade and Information Office
(GTIO) is to support Ghana in the development and implementation of business development plans and strategies, to promote business opportunities in Ghana to North American and other companies, and to actively foster strong relationships with
the North American and other governments and related agencies for funding and international trade.
GTIO is planned to be permanently located in Southern California, USA.
Business relations between Ghana and North America will be coordinated through
GTIO and be targeted at various levels including:
Government Contact and Liaison
Private Industries
Joint Venture Company Candidates
Project Vendor Opportunities
Business Professional and Trade Associations
Media/Press communication and Education
GTIO acts as the primary resource and coordinator for Ghanaian officials and personnel. Services provided
include travel, meeting scheduling, technology and skill transfer programs, translation, communication, financial affairs, investment, and other support services.
Another important function of GTIO in North America
is to provide a central tracking control and management function for all proposed, developed, implemented and completed projects by working closely with the International Relations Organizations in the United States and abroad.
GTIO will focus on developing the construction, consumer goods, and travel and tourism
industries. Special attention will be given to priorities and opportunities for both import and export.
Humanitarian aid and environmental projects are very important as well.
GTIO will develop relationships and work closely with North American Private Voluntary Organizations to identify, develop, fund and successfully complete these kinds of projects.
It will also be crucial to develop and disseminate a wide range of information about Ghanaian business opportunities. It
is the task of GTIO to determine the requirements of such reports and develop and study details for funding proposals to North American and international funding agencies.
